How to Create an Affiliate Website

•Go to Google's "Keyword Research" tool to locate what people search for online. Find a keyword that is popular and one in which you are interested. Start by putting in broad topics and narrowing them down. This step might take a long time, but it's important. Try to choose a keyword that makes sense, as you will use the keyword a lot in content and titles.

•2

Visit ClickBank or a similar website and browse the marketplace. If you are using ClickBank, use the search tool to find a product within your "niche," a product that is related to your keyword. Pick a product to review based on preferred priorities. For example, the most important factor for you might be how well the product sells. You might, however, be more interested in how much it pays when it does sell, however often that is. Or you might be more concerned with reviewing the best product regardless of how well it sells or how high the commission is.

•3

Check for domain names. Visit a hosting site such as GoDaddy, Hostgator or MyDomain. Check to see if your preferred domain name is available. Many affiliate marketers insist that your primary keyword should be part of the domain name. Others however debate the importance of this and say to choose a domain name with which you are comfortable.

Website Development

•1

Choose a format. If you want to start a blog, then make sure you use a host that is compatible with WordPress or a similar format. If you prefer static pages, then this is not as important. A design should be based around the format. Your affiliate links should be easy to see and your site should be easy to navigate.

•2

Add content. Write an article reviewing your chosen affiliate product. Make sure the affiliate link is functional. Content should be original and helpful, but make sure your readers have some incentive to look to your affiliate product for more information.

•3

Drive traffic. This step is perhaps the most broad. This might include article marketing in which you write articles and submit them to article databases that other writers use for content. Include a link to your blog in the resource box. Also write guest posts for other blogs and encourage readers to submit your site to social networking sites.
